me decide.

what are your thoughts, im looking at the 20 inch. my laptop ate shit (possibly from me slamming it down after it would freeze all the time but im going to stick by my origonal claim that it was a virus that caused the plugin to seperate from the motherboard) chances of them fixing it on warantee are slim. used one for a while in a friends room and thought it was pretty slick. still wondering why it dosen't have a tv tuner but whatever. also im not worried about the not being able to do any of the shit i used to on my windows pc thing because a. i hate windows b. all i do is photoshop, ms word, and hope to use protools alot soon, oh and browse the web and talk to you fine cats. c. because the new macs can have windows installed on them assuming they have that dandy intel chip

i really want to use the mac OS though, not to mention desktop realestate. i'd get another laptop but honestly it becomes too much of a pain, i have 200 gigs of music i like to have with me all the time and its hard to do that with a laptop (i never know what im gonna wanna listen to next). i also noticed that my laptop was confined to my desk, although that might change as im in a town with good coffee shops.

i get a decent student discount on macs as well

I feel your situation..and if you get a good discount thats even better. I used to run apple back in the day...i mean like i played Oregon trail on my 2e...the last mac i had was a performa 630 CD back in like 1994. It was a 33mhz power house with 4mb of ram and a 250mb HD...

Even though i dont have time to play games hardly at all anymore i still want a rig i could game on should i have time. Thats why i got the 256meg geforce 6800 in my laptop.

If i could afford to run apple now days i certainly would...but i cant run apple, be into car audio, and keep up with all the little extravagant extras i have grown accustomed to..like coffee thats $15 a pound and eating out all the time..

yeah, i feel ya. im about to pay off a year of KU tuition, attempt to purchase my first house, save up for the new camaro's or buy an audi s4, and furnish the ****ing house... this is going to be rough. but, where theres a will, theres a way

its unix, i had redhat, then SuSE for a while. it was nice but i need something more mainstream for my use's. good suggestion though, thanks
