Yup, completely fcked, fried, looks like it caught on fire so im lucky my whole truck didnt go up.

So, go add that fuse to your alt. power cable, because it is obviously needed. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif

150 bucks and a couple hours later i have a running truck again, oh, and i took the cable off my alt. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Understatement. Had tons of sht to do on monday, and of course its my day off.

wow, i'll make sure i'll fuse mine when i do it.
Yes, you definantly should, BTW, ive had it like this for over 6 months, guess it just finally decided to fck up on me.

GoD Damn !! Melted right into your alt //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif
Yup, had to beat the post to get the wires off, and both cables were fused to my alt, so i had to snap them with a bolt cutter.

do you still have a positive wire running to the alt?
cuz uhh....yeah.
Yes, im not an idiot. lol. I just put the stock one on it for now, until i fuse the big 3, plus i dont have anything installed right now.

question, did you tape the ends of your connections with electrical tape? because ive heard the adhesive in it will either catch fire or it will melt the tape dripping molten pieces material on to possibly flammable things surrounding it...just a thought..

Ya i was actually thinking that, but i didnt do the ends, just around the bare part of the connector where the wire goes in and you crimp it, i guess it could have dropped in there though, but WTF else are you supposed to use for that? Id hate to have bare wire or a bare connector there.

Also, you can see where the tape is, and the fire didnt even touch the tape. Also, i tried lighting a piece of electrical tape on fire with a bare flame, and it put itself out repeatedly.

idk, an electrician told me not to tape the ends, they have silicon end pieces that can be put over those, and i don't believe catch fire until ridiculous heat incurs..at the point the wire surround would light on fire..lol
