Connecting an Alpine Receiver with a JVC CD Changer. PLEASE HELP ME!

umm the link didn't work for the jvc i will see if i can lookup the model. But looking at the model number is it an rf changer? if so you can def do it but you wont control it from the alpine deck. it would have its own controller

Oh, I didn’t expect to be answered so quickly. You guys are fantastic. Thx.

I asked that because in the manual wrote “This changer can be connected to JVC KD-MX, KD-SX, KDLX, KD-SH, KD-LH or KS-FX series receivers that include a Changer Control function.”

I received this(the jvc changer) as a birthday present a while ago, but I didn’t install it (just waited for a new car). While I was reading the on-line manual, I saw the above line. In that moment I just have seen black in front of my eyes. As I already said, I have an Alpine receiver and I thought that the jvc changer works only with jvc receivers.

Now, you’re saying that those two can work together. Thank you.

Just as a question, what is an “rf”?

Anything else that I should know about those two, or… I’ll just go, install them, connect them through the jvc link and… that’s it?

thx

rf= radio frequency. that changer can catke the sound off the cd's and broadcast it on an fm radio band. so then you just tune the radio in the car to that station and you can her it. then you just use the little controller it comes with to select what song and cd you want to hear.

Now if you had one of the jvc radio models you listed you could go without the controller and fm modulator(the piece that creates the fm station) and control it through the radio.

Thank you for this infos, I didn't know that

But, I'm still curious, why in the jvc manual it was written that it doesn't work but with those jvc receivers? It is just a marketing matter?

Thx once again! You've been verry helpful!

I looked at the manual and it just said that it can be used with those recievers with a changer control function. I didn't see it say it ONLY works with those. Basically what it is saying is that you can use the changer on those recievers and not need to use the external controller or fm modulator. It will connect directly to those models.
