RMS - continuous power

Peak - max power an amp can produce under extreme circumstances

Look at RMS ONLY

Ok?

You shouldnt have bought the "Kingwoods"

You cant get 600 watts out of those speakers. power comes from amps. BTW I doubt the kingwoods would handle more than about 80 watts for the pair

That is why we search

Hope that helps

P.S. KILL THE CAPS LOCK

RMS is a thermal rating of how much heat (or power) a speaker can take continously like SS said before it is damaged.

Peak power is a "lightning strike", a rating of how much power a speaker can take for a brief surge. Its useless to look at, and for the most part its a marketing scheme.

You should look at RMS, and you need to match the speakers RMS. Not completely, as a speaker does not need 100% of its RMS to achieve full output. I.e. a 100wrms speaker might perform the same given 75wrms vs. 100wrms.

Do you mean you got Kenwood speakers? They are not very good speakers. I would try to bring them back and let us help an guide you here to enlightenment.

No... he meant Kingwood. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gifcheck it out.

i got the 6.5 inch ones but u guys know more so its no where close to getting 600 watts even wid amp ?

but they sound better then my factory ones for 30$ i dont think it was a that bad of a deal ?

well as u all know i know nothing abt these things this is the 1st time i actually bought speakers

so tell me ill spend abt 1000$ on my car audio

but i want everything best speakers amp subs hu all those things i think 1000$ will be enough for this ?

btw is pioneer the new 5way 460 watts anygood ?

thanks

It doesn't work that way. In my opinion, you need to have a goal for the system. Where it is bass, sound quality or just an upgrade over stock. Atleast you have a budget. Explain more of your plans and we will be more able to assist. Lastly, if you are content with the Kingwood, then don't let us stop you. Many on the forum dislike the kappas, but I love em.

best...such a subjective word. A componet system is better, but quite a bit more costly. However, I think only a few people make 6x9 component systems. Personally, I have found anything above coaxials to be less than quality sound.

i want quality sound thats the main thing

and bass i dont want too much so that i cant even hear the music but something heavy n clear

thanks
