Confused in terms of what port to go with...

I ordered myself an Obsidian 18... Just going to do the one.

Everywhere I look here, says to use 2 6 inch aeros, an 8, or a 10 inch aero.

On the Obsidian website, they recommend a single 6 inch aeroport.

This is where I got confused. I'm unsure what to go with. I'd like to just trust what the manufacturer of the subwoofer says, but I also trust what people who have had single 18's with more port and good results.

My big question; should I trust what Obsidian says about their subwoofer, go bigger, or just say **** going with aero and just do a slot port?

Want to sound good and get loud. Tuning to 31 any way I go.

Start with the 6 if you dont like it go bigger like what the other peeps are using.

If you are designing your own, I would go with exactly what is recommended. 1 6" which equals 28.3 in^2.

"If you go with another port size other than what we recommend and the result is

poor performance you can’t say we didn’t advise you differently. The above port

recommendations work extremely well for all applications and they offer a solid

balance of a broad bandwidth and substantial SPL ability."
