Confused about amplifier setup

I'm a little confused about the setup needed for an amplifier to work.

I currently have 2 nady 15 inch speakers ( http://www.zzounds.com/item--NDYPS115 ), the speakers are ran through my rear left and right speaker channels through my Sony Xplod head unit (http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5148257 ).

I've got about 150 dollars to spend on an amp i've had my eye on, but i'm not sure exactly how the setup works.

From my understanding I've gathered this,I run the amp to my battery, and then the speakers connect to the amp which is connected to the rear left and right speaker wires from the head unit.

Yeah, I use them in place of subs until i can afford them, so far they put out a nice amount of volume. But my question wasnt about my speakers, i'm wondering how an amplifier needs to be hooked up to your head unit and battery.

all righty then....

Basically, you just run a power wire from the battery + to your amplifier +, size determined by the wattage of the amp. then you ground the amplifier using wire the same size as the power wire. from the head unit, you need to run RCA's and remote turn-on. then you're done

What amp are you looking at?

a Kicker KX450.2 2, What exactly do I connect my RCA's to, because i do not believe that my head unit or speakers have them.

Your head unit ought to have an RCA output on the back of it.

I checked the back, no rca inputs , what should i do?
