Config/Ohmage Question??

Feel The Bass In ur EYEs
I have 2 Alpine SWR-1042D's...

They have 4 ohm coils...

I take them both, wire the coils in parallel, to get a ohmage of 2 for each sub... Then I take both subs and put them in parallel to get a final ohmage of 1? Is that correct? In this config a 1000 watt RMS amp would be ideal right?
