the coil i have in my driver is 88 grams.. the cone on the other had is freaking heavy(over 250 grams //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif. i wanted lighter but the woofer is capable of 35mm linear each way and the lighter cones don't do well). so are the larger 10" spiders. sill around 88db 1w/1m. granted the displacement capabilities of the woofer i wouldn't run under 2kw to it as its pointless but i must say i do agree with you. unless i put a carbon cone i cant help it much(unless you dont mind reconing them). the carbon cones are 200 bucks a peace. the thing is though that this woofer and others are capable of utilizing much larger boxes so despite the lower 1w1m rating the total system efficiency is MUCH higher. i promise you with the larger woofers in 4.25 tuned to 35 with 2500 will get you into the high 140s and sound good at least my woofer will. hehe that just wasn't possible then. no woofer could take 3kw daily..
