Computer screen as a tv monitor

i got a viper sry. i should probably take that out. I think ill buy that adapter and try this out with one of my monitors. If it works than i saved a shitload of money.

wont look good

only thing that will look good is video games....

i think ps2 supports vga output

otherwise, ntsc and even pal use completely different signals than any native vga, xga, wvga, wxga, or svga resolution....

it's either gonna have to be cropped, not fill the screen, or look like a$$

Yeah, it'll look like garbage. The native resolution on the screen is 1680x1050, the resolution on that composite input will be 640x480, interlaced. That means the monitor is going to have to 'make-up' over a million pixels.

i believe hdtv would look ok, but it would have to be cropped........

xga can show the 4:3 center of an hdtv signal without a cone filter

or you could show it in a letterbox, but it wouldn't be a true pixel to pixel reproduction, 1/3 of the pixels would be dropped to make it fit

portable hdtv's still in it's preliminary stages, tho, aren't there like 2 or 3 different formats still....

i always hate multiple formats, it's like dvdaudio vs. sacd, or betamax, and super-beta vs. super-vhs, and dvhs vs. dvd, and 1080i vs 720p vs 1080p vs 720i, i hate technology now, multiple formats can kiss my ***

forgot about laserdisc, vcd, cdv, svcd, kvcd, cd+g, DAT, s-DAT, cd+eg

technology used to be so simple

plus sub-subdivisiions of recorded media, such as preflagged cd's, and DTS-cd's, and i don't remember what they were called, but there were 18-bit cd's.... i know 311's transistor is recorded in it, but i don't remember what it was called.......
