Just was running some scans on my computer, keeping it running good, and I just noticed when I was running Malwarebytes, when It scans it uses the term "object", ( ie 100,000 objects scanned / 0 objects infected etc ) Well what is an object? Is it a file? Cuz when I think about it scanning ( like it just did ) 212,000 objects, I have no idea that there was 200,000 of anything on my computer.. lol I alwasys thought Objects were files, so say I had 1000 pics , 100 vids, music etc plus maybe a few hundred programs for the computer itself..

So does anyone know?

Yes, objects are files. A lot of games, for example can easily have over a thousand files in just the one game. Then you have to count the elephant that is your O.S., which probably makes up a majority of those 200 k objects

im running windows 7, and dont have any games.. Ahh never mind.. I got a shitload that were pre installed by HP im assuming.. So what ARE those files? just a bunch of backup/history or what?

I couldnt tell you, there are games built in to the OS, but those arent the games Im talking about lol. Im sure there are some backup files in there, but you would be surprised at how big your OS really is. Put it this way( and Im doing this from memory from years ago, when we still did things in kbytes).

1 bit or byte is 1 letter or number or symbol of any kind. 1000 bytes makes a kbyte. 1000kbyte makes a megabyte. 1000 megabytes make a gigabyte. To put it this way- Go to your my computer, click your drive ( prolly c: ), then right click on your windows directory. You should see a window pop up, and the size of the file keeps going up. Mine stopped at 17.8 GB, I have vista 32, which is very similar to windows 7. That is just the windows directory, there is much more than that to your OS.

Objects can be anything. Cookies, .txt files, word documents, pics, movies, .dlls, drivers. Anything thats on your computer thats not part of the MBR or page file.
