i have a dilemma. I am trying to run 2 monitors off my laptop that have separate (extended) displays for a total of 3 displays (laptop screen, monitor 1, and monitor 2). I just tried using a vga splitter to achieve this, but all it did was extend once so monitor 1 and monitor 2 showed the same display. This is not what I'm looking for, I need all displays to be different. Will a usb to vga adapter work? Is my video card going to prevent this from happening? All help is much appreciated.

Google the problem, I think I hit ctrl f7 or one of the f's to display on my 32" and my laptop.

But normally I type it into google and it comes right up.

good luck

i googled it already, didn't say what equipment i would need to run multiple monitors, just said it is possible to run at least 10 monitors off applet. Doesn't say what to use to connect them to my laptop so they are recognized separately

The better question is...why? I mean, I ran dual monitors my first year of college for about 2 days only for the "cool" factor, it had little to no usable benefit to me.

1 GPU can run 3 monitors. You just need the program installed to do it. You can either use your ATI or NVIDIA control panel or this:
MultiMonitor TaskBar

What operating system are you using? Even Win 7 has it built into it so no additional software is needed.
didn't take, the program said "this computer does not have multi-monitor support" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

you need a graphics card with that capability. that's all. if yours doesn't support it, you need to go out and buy one that does and install it. if it doesn't explicity say, just look at the picture and see if it has 2 VGA or DVI connectors

this.

I'm running a cheapy (ATI 9600xt) card that has this capability on my desktop. One VGA output plus one DVI
