sue me, its a ford.
As stated in a previous post, my computer is a dinosaur. I want to use all the existing thingies in it and get a new quad core motherboard, a good video card, and lots of ram and still use my dell case and everything else. Im trying to do this on the cheap with xmas monies. Can somebody help me put this together price wise and what to use? My vid card is a 256mb ati x1300 that was $120 but apparantely wont cut it for gta 4, so its for sale as well. Im looking for a good vid card thats pci express, like an 8800gt. I need input from gurus. Thanks.

Chances are it won't work. Dell usually builds their own cases and motherboards. Most aftermarket motherboards run on an atx or micro atx pattern. Dell does not. Chances are that the holes on a new motherboard will not line up to the holes in the Dell case. Been there, done that.

Dell systems (for the most part) have been BTX form factors for the last few years, which is not compatible with the ATX form factor. But since you did say your PC was a dinosaur, that might lead me to think it was pre-BTX and might just be an ATX system. If you gave us your model number, we could help you out properly.

Just as a side note though, I would look to buy at least a new PSU at minimum. An older PSU will not be able to properly power all of today's thingies.
