computer help...going back to school

im leaving to go back to school on wednesday and im looking for someone who can run through some things with me to get my laptop back in nice working order...

i currently have 60+ processes running and opening a simple program makes my CPU usage go through the roof...

any help would be greatly appreciated....you can post up here or IM me

go to start > run > type msconfig

From there, see what program you want to run and which one don't want to run

Scandisk, and defrag your system, also run antivirus and antispyware/antiadware.

thats the thing...all these processes and programs i dont know whats important and what isnt

maybe consider reformatting? (make sure you backup all your ish first)

I've had good luck using the following

AVG virus protection

Spysweeper

Registry Mechanic

also use add/remove programs to get rid of anything you don't use

AIM: ninetwosc - if you need anything

yeah i dont have a ton of processes i reformatted at the beginning of summer...i just wanna freshen up sorta
