Compustar Question

Can anyone tell me if I have to have the alarm/starter combo of the Compustar alarm to be able to use Turbo Timer Mode? - Can I just have the Alarm only version and have the Turbo Timer Mode work?

Also, anyone with the Spread Spectrum model have you actually tested the range? - and is it usually over at least a 1/2 mile range both ways?

And does anyone know when the newest model came out? because prices 4 months ago were like $150 lower than they are now..
