I'm looking to buy a pair of 6.5" comps that would run good of a headunit for now and then maybe be able to run good when amped later on. Price range is anywhere from $30-70 about.

off HU you want high sensitivity like 92dB or higher if you can find them. JBL's are usually very efficient. If you plan to amp them then I still suggest the PB comps from millionbuy for $36 and a refurbed Profile amp for around $40. Not going to get much cheaper then that...

So if the sensitivity on the comps are 90db like those 6x8's they should play at about the same loudness before distortion?

I second a set of powerbass comps I had 2 pair and they worked great amped or off the HU

Im not a fan of the PG RSD comps but you may like them and they ae in your price range.
