I'm looking for a new set of 6.5" comps to replace my Rainbow Dream Lines. They need to have good midbass, smooth highs, and be able to handle 150wRMS. They'll be installed in a well damped/deadened door.

My spending limit is $250 and so far my list of possibilities looks like this -

1. DLS Ultimate UPS

2. CDT EF-61FG w/ TW-25 tweets

3. Boston Acoustics SL60

4. Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1

5. Diamond Audio D661s

6. Phoenix Gold Xenon 6.5

Which would be a better choice? Thanks.

First off, the infinity kappas, and the pg xenons have 0 midbass, as for the rest I cannot make a claim. I do however reccomend the phoenix gold rsd comps for explosive midbass, and smooth highs.

Nope

[edit] yes, it does now.

Why oh why would you recommend Pyramid speakers from a shady internet photography store (likely one of those NY/Brooklyn scammers)?

Just kidding bout those "high power" components:laugh: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I would put together a DIY set myself . //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

Yes I believe very much that install plays a big role. I spent days soundproofing my car and making sure I built a good foundation for my system. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
