Comps that sound good off low power

Im looking for a set of comps that would sound good powered off the internal amp of an alpine 9886. Apparently it puts out about 18w rms @ 4 ohms.

Also, I was taking a look at the PG RSD's and it says that 5W-120W, but with such a range, how would they sound off 18W?

go with the powerbass s-series comps if you can find them.

but yeah your deck's internal amp isn't nearly as good as the cheapest amp your can find for them

Well theyre for my brother who would probably end up blowin his money on other stuff before he could save up enough for nice comps and a HU.

your local flea market will have an amp for $20 or less.

todays fleamarket score was a rockford fosgate 2600x series 1 for $15

rms power is 60w by 2 ch @2ohms

people are selling all kinds of crap now that the new great depression has hit.

haggle. $10 or $20 will get you something for now - and possibly something not all that bad either if you got a good desire to hunt for it.

I just remembered that I have one of these http://www.dakmart.com/product_info.php?products_id=9985 that he can use to power the comps. Im thinking the PG RSD would be pretty chill off power from that.

Even a cheap external amp will make budget comps sound much better than run off the HU.

Install them well with lots of sound deadener and a MDF ring or plate and they should sound pretty good.
