Try sound deadening/ sealing your doors first, that made a HUGE difference in my car in the midbass dept. Second, make sure you have a good seal from the basket of the speaker to the door panel, if there is a gap midbass can be lost between the door and door panel rather than the sound being pumped into the car. I would try these two things before you condemn you Kickers. That said, if you want some shockingly good components, save up around $300 and buy Dls UP6's from Tplaya07 on here. They have incredible SQ, great midbass, and a very small magnet to make your mounting issues a breeze. http://www.dlsamerica.com

if your concerned with midbass, aside doing whats been mentioned (matting, sealing, etc), y dont you go to a shop, check out all the comps and see which ones have the midbass response youll like.

All you need is to use a product like Dynamat Extreme, line the inside of the outer door skin with it, and then line the door metal (in place of the plastic moisture barrier) with a solid sheet, or at least sheets so all the holes are covered except where the speaker goes. Place strip caulking on the backside of the woofer, and on the front side of the basket (outside of the surround) so it will seal to the door panel. This should help your midbass dramatically. Stuffing the doors w/ foam is not very effective IMO, and expandable foam has a way of messing up body panels when it expands.

well I did part of the job already. I was not able to find any egg carton foam but I got some foam sheets. I also put weather stripping on the bottom and top of the speakers to seal them off well. Then I prepped the holes in the doors with some duct tape so when I do get the deadnener. There was one part of the door that I will probably will not be able to seal off becuase the door/lock bars go across it. For the most part there is some improvement to the midbass. I was able to turn the crossover down on the amp quite a bit and there was no distortion in them. I would probably not see a huge jump of midbass untill I deaden the door tho.
