components= no sound

Hey guys, just installed my new CDT CL-61A components w/ profile AP1000 amp. Ive got everything wired up and its correct (went over it 5 times). The amp has power and RCAs are good. I checked the speaker outputs on the amp w/ a MM and everything checks out fine.

The problem is the speakers are not responsive at all. Not the least bit of sound coming from the mid or the tweeter. Possibly the crossover? Maybe a wiring issue?

Im completely stumped, all help is greatly appreciated!

welcome to the site, could be the crossover, but if its brand new, not likely. i say its your wiring

Thanks! Where do you think is the most likely wiring culprit? Fuse? ground? Like I said the amp turns on and sends power out of the terminals, but I get nothing.

if your positive that it sends out power to the speakers, then its not the amp, so you could cancel that out, it would end up being anywhere from the wiring from your amp to your crossovers to your speakers, i would go over it again and make sure all your connections are good, and its wired properly to the crossovers and the speakers

Ok I think Im makin some headway. I re-did my ground and now it appears that the mids are workin fine but the tweeters still dont work, all I get from them is a very faint static sound.

All connections to crossover are secure and solid.

Any ideas?

Just an update in case anyone comes across this in the future. I narrowed it down to the RCAs and decided to run a seperate set to the back and that seemed to fix the issue. The RCAs I was originally tapping were for the sub (in mono) which is why only the mids were workin and not the tweets.

anytime man, i wish i would have known that your ran your rca's through your other amp, we prolly could of had it fixed last night. glad you got it workin though
