component/tweeter question pics

ok..so i dont know if all companies are this way being this is the first set of components ive installed but..kicker has the ability to take the center peice out of the center of the midwoofer to install the tweeter.

it works all assembled with the midrange unscrewed from the door. and i screw it in, and the midrange with stop working. itll kick in, and stop working at its own will. all on its own. i just let the truck play, and this door spearker will kick in and play for a few seconds, then all of a sudden stop. and alittle later pick up and start playing again.

now i tapped on the surround when it stopped making sound..and it started making sound again, played for alittle while, and stopped. touched it again..kicked right on.

so i took the tweeter out and reinstalled the regular centerpiece and now its doing the cutin-cutout playing again.

any ideas whats wrong?

it sounds like something may be grounding out. Check to make sure that none of the speaker connections are touching metal.

if the coil separated wouldnt it not play at all? and if the leads broke wouldnt no power be sent to it?

i pulled it out of the door and checked the connections to the coils on the woofer..they were fine. check my xover?

crimp the spade terminals down hard, r solder wires to speaker terms

the spades are clamped pretty firm..but ill try again.

if the coil is burnt in half of tensil is broke you can sometime spush on it and it make contact... ive seen it happen more than 5 times

If it works fine out of the truck but not in, then I would suspect you have a wire/connector grounding out your door's metal.
