Component sealing in doors......

I am about to install some 6.5 comps in the doors of my Honda CRX. I have both doors deadened with edead v1 and some v3 I got from the group buy. My question is, will the edead v1 provide a sufficient airtight seal between the woofer and door? I have made an adapter out of MDF that will be between the door and speaker so that is what will actually form the seal. Will edead provide sufficieant seal? Is a completely airtight seal important? If I need to use some more gasket material, what am I supposed to use?

Does it matter what type of speaker wire I use to go from the amp to the speaker? It will be a 75 - 100 w going to the comps. I always thought the real expensive stuff was a waste of money but I don;t want it to limit the system either.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Get some foam tape and put that on the edges of the woofer if it doesn't seal. And how would we know if it will seal good? We havn't seen your car or how you did on the install.. trial and error bro try some stuff and figure it out.

As john mentioned; foam tape or whether sealer foam will seal it. Yes, that seal is important.....that's why speakers have rubber gaskets, to help them seal better.

As for speaker wire; wire is wire. Just make sure it's big enough to carry the amount of power you want to transfer. The main differences between cheap stuff and expensive stuff is that the more expensive stuff usually has a higher strand count (increases flexibility), better insulation (more durable) and increased resistance to corrosion and oxidation and whatnot.

OK, I can post some pics when I get my new mac to recognize my dig camera...urgh! I just wasn;t sure if the edead was flexible enough to provide a seal. I guess not. There was no gasket with the speakers or I would have used that.
