Component Question

I am plannin on buying some components this summer and had orginally planned on having them in the door. The door was goin to need to be modified to accomodate the comps but when I went out to measure the empty door space that I have, I found that I dont have room for them to fit. And so now im gonna try to build my own kickpanels using the current plastic panels. Im not too sure how im gonna do it and I need some suggestions on the design and materials needed.

I also have another ? about the airspace behind the comps. Do they require a certain amount of airspace like subs or do they not move enough for airspace to matter very much. When I get done I may not have very much airspace behind them so I need an answer to that as well.
