Component Cable question...

I recently switched from Comcast to At&t U-Verse. I love the additional HD channels but the quality doesn't seem as good. I've heard it's because currently AT&T has low bandwidth and will fix it fairly soon but I also noticed that the Comcast Component Cables had 6 plugs while the ATT has 3 (not RCAs, componenet, its blue, green and another color).

Would that be a reason for the lower quality???

If his Comcast box is like the one I had, he had these RCA style connections:

Red/Green/Blue (together in a row) = component video output

Red/white (together) = stereo audio out

orange = coaxial digital out (mine never worked. Ended up using optical out)

If you used the Comcast supplied wiring, the cable should have had 5 connectors.

3 for the component video and 2 for the stereo L/R audio.
