completely wireless tv hook up?? (weird question)

My buddy is going to have a flat panel tv mounted to his wall and wants to know if there's a way to hook up his surround sound, xbox 360 and dvd, blueray player to his tv via wireless connection....I thought i've read about some device that you kept in a closet or attic that all your gear hooked up to and then that connected to your tv, can anyone provide some insight??? There prolly is something like you mentioned but I bet there is some kinda of receiver that he'd have to hide near the tv cause I haven't heard of any tvs with built in wireless capabilities.

i've seen ones where there is a rack on the wall, has reciever and all sitting on it, and ran wire through...

and some have tv stands and then run wires through wall.
