I believe the p229 is a more compact gun when compared to the p226.

yeah it's like 1/2" shorter i think.. never seen trigger with like full 1" pull, it was because of safety feature i'd rater have safety on side, slide or anything else..

Narrowed it down to

S&W Bodyguard 380

Kahr P380

and

Ruger LCP II

Gonna go Wednesday on my day off to a couple gun shops and actually hold each of them to get a feel for them.

May tryout a Sig and a Glock as well

What does everyone carry?

Based on what you are looking at, I'd look at the Kimber Micro. You may want to check out the CZ P10C, but it's a little bit larger.

On the 226 only the first pull is long for safety reasons but you can over ride that if needed.

That ain't concealing **** when you sit down. You're going to be printing like a motherfucker.

With the thickness of the material on the outside and with a good pocket holster you would really be surprised how well it does. That said I was looking for the most comfortable option that still allows for quick access with full concealment a secondary consideration. My Timer signal to first shot with these and with a standard hip holster is essentially the same and obviously going to be much faster if your hand is resting inside the pocket like I do a lot anyways. May not work for everyone but if looking for an alternative to hip or appendix then pocket is the way to go. I have tried 9 different types of pants for pocket carry and these are the best. I'm honestly angry that I did not come up with the pocket design myself.

Tried three today. Sig P238, Glock 42, and S&W Bodyguard. So far the Glock is my favorite

I generally carry the lcp in a Sticky brand pocket holster. I do also have a leather wallet holster that I can use if I can’t fit the sticky holster.

Ruger SR40 (this is my first gun i ever bought and its one of my favorites and most reliable one i own but its a full size)

Ruger American 9mm double stack (this is my regular day to day carry an favorie gun overall)

Smith and Wesson M&P Shield 9mm single stack (this is the easiest one to conceal that i own)

Smith and Wesson Airweight double action 38 special (this is kept in a hidden spot in the house for easy acess in an emergency)

S&W compact 40 is one my favorites..Sig P-250, not very compact but concealable and reliable. walther p-99 my favorite.All reliable for the money.never had any of these jam on me even with reloads.I choose a 40 cal. over a 9 and 45 for concealment
