Comp VR 12"s- 1.5cf ported box per channel, good idea or bad?

I have two of these in a 3.0cf ported box...the specs say they need 2.25cf each or 4.5 total for both of mine. Is it bad to run them in such a small box?

i'm kind of confused about your post but if your box is tuned to 40htz or higher and you don't have a subsonic filter on your amp you are most likely killing your subs... tune lower around 30

thos subs will be better ported, just make your box correctly

2.25 is much better, and tune lower.

5 cubes is probably perfect for 2 of them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif but no, a smaller box isn't hurting them, a bigger box will make it better though tune a lot lower tho

Well I didn't make the box, that's just what they came with...I checked everything out on carstereo.com and got my box's frequency from there...It says it's about 35Hz but I don't think the box is big enough for the Xmax of the sub as it moves strangely at high volumes...I'll see if I can get a bigger box in the meantime.
