Preston Caught a Predator
On one hand I can see where you guys are coming from on Manning not deserving the MVP. I thought before it was announced that it was going to be a bit of a stretch to give it to him.
On the other hand, what one person deserved it more than he. I don't think you can say both running backs. That just seems to say that the running game, overall, was more important than the passing game overall. Is there a precedent for giving THE Most Valuable Player award to two players?
Also, do you really think that either of the RB's was more important than Manning? I think that if Manning had gone down with an injury on the first play the outcome would have been more likely to be different than if one of the RB's had gone down.
I think that it is a tough call. But there is no doubt that Manning had the advantage on that award going into the game. It was an uphill battle for everyone else on the Colts.
