Its when you know controls good enough to program the devices write the logic and set parameters for action.

I make more than most engineers at this job..

You can do alot of cool stuff. The plants basically a giant computer that has a span of parameters in order to operate. We program and calibrate and set the span for these devices and program the logic controllers to operate in unison..

Like for example your amps terminal protection. We do the same shot in a boiler for example.

When the boiler temp gets a certain level we program outputs to make say a fan kick on or maybe automatically open a vent valve and start a fan.

Good luck ! I'm currently attending Penn State University for Electrical Engineering.

The Work load is tough and difficult, but stress relief during weekend partys are always good to look forward too and help you through the school week.

PS. nice Heart communicator, that must be a newer model ive worked with the 165,175 and 275.

475 touch screen. No lie this plant has some serious process control. Stuff it would take days to figure out if your not similar with the programming.

I believe ive heard of it. is it a Artificial intelligence control system?

I worked on a Diesel Power Plant this summer, I did process control and PLC programming ( Allen Bradley RSlogix 5000 ). pretty cool stuff.
