College Question

So I'm a junior in highschool right now and realized I messed up a little in highschool. I used to get 4.0s and a high gpa every report card in middle school. Now I'm in pilot school to get my license to become a pilot after college.

That's where the problem is. I understand everything in school and ace all of my tests but rarely did homework:crap:. My GPA is 2.75 in highschool but I can easily get 4.0s again and I know I am going to do that my last 3 semesters in high school. I wanna go into WWU after highschool but will they let me in with a somewhat low gpa if they see I turned around and did all of my work and got my pilots license planning for the future?

Not if they are a top school and have a low acceptance rate. Only the kids who work hard all the time and do their work get a shot. Good luck though, I hope it works out for you.

as you said you still have 3 semesters left.

hell i have a 2.1 gpa and got accepted to UF somehow which must have had alot to do with my ACT scores and extra curricular

i got a 1375 on my SATs also.

If you have a good SAT or ACT score it will help a lot. Lots of schools base acceptance on that.

Then you should be perfectly fine if you're a well rounded student and finish strong.

My GPA wasn't great in HS, went to a tiny private school and didn't have a GPA system that could translate easily to anyone else's though. My SAT scores were nothing impressive (1200ish), but apparently I did well enough to place out of a freshman English requirement here (go figure //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif)

But where I'm out of state, they're also salivating over the money that's being forked over...where you're in-state that won't happen. Doesn't hurt to apply though, you're only out $100 or so for trying...

Yeah I got a good score on the ACT( not too sure off the top of my head) and SAT will be real easy for me considering on our state test the "WASL" I scored Exceeds standard in all categories except math where I missed it by 12 points.

I regret not trying harder in high school now that i'm in debt like crazy, even though i had a 3.85 and a 25 on ACT, i was capable of a lot more and could have gotten a lot more scholarships had i put a little effort into things, but i guess ya live and learn and I did good my 1st semester of college.

Yeah on the note of scholarships. Make sure to apply early for simple, little local scholarships as well as larger ones. They all add up and it is money that won't come out of your pocket / your parent's.

Yeah. They probably wont give me much for slacking my first 2 years but I'm hoping for a little. My parents will pay for how much money I get as scolarship so the bigger the scolarship the more my parents will pay. The rest I'll have to pay.

You might get more than you think for doing bad and then turning around and doing well. A lot of people in my HS got a lot doing that, one girl even took a year off and came back and still got lots of scholarships, ***** for me but better for you.

WWU isn't that hard of a college to get into.

Study for your SAT's and try very hard on your essay and you'll be accepted.

But if you want easy acception look into WSU.

Yeah that school is really easy to get into from what I have heard. That would be a last resort for me for a year but I wanna try to stay away from doing that.

i really want to go to gonzaga, but western is probably #2, all my friends are probably going to go there so I like that one better.

3.5 here, but i only got a 1750 on the SAT. ****ing writing did it in for me, I barely got above 500 on it. I also thought that you got knocked off less for the ones you answered incorrectly instead of left blank.

still waiting for wsu and ubc...luckily colleges in the area have a high acceptance rate from my high school. so despite my low grades i still have a good shot at good colleges.
