Last I checked they do play top teams every year- they smoke someone in a bowl game...The #2 team in the country! They were poorly prepared....How? They had over a Month to get ready!? They Beat Arizona State soundly when they were ranked like 12, They thrashed #8 Oregon at Oregon.

Those teams are usually very overrated...including Notre Dame when they played this year. I'm not saying they aren't good, but does Oregon deserve to be #8? Yeah, I agree with their number 1 standing so far, but I've never respected their schedule...and the fact they haven't played a team with a halfway decent defense.

Oh, and about that bowl game last year...they weren't the best team. Auburn would have smoked them. That team was spectacular...and got the huge shaft.

I think there are 2 or 3 teams out there capable of beating USC. It's quite obvious that USC's weakness is defense. So you compile a list of teams that have a good offense and you come up with a few teams like Georgia, Va Tech, Texas. Now out of those 3 teams, I think Va Tech and Georgia have the best shot at beating USC simply because they also have a good defense. Because obviously the key to beating USC is to be able to keep up with them offensively and slow them down a bit defensively. Considering Va Tech's awesome D, I'd give them the best shot at beating USC, but I also believe Texas is capable of beating USC simply because there offense can keep up with USC. Either way you look at it, USC is not the dominant team they have been for the past 2 years. They are beatable.

Indeed. With the exception of a couple players, they aren't as great as everyone makes them out to be.

USC will make those long plays regardless, but Va Tech's defense will score themselves points based on field position and turnovers.

I think he'd get his 100 yards, but you wouldn't see him busting out 40+ yd rushes like he did last week. USC is going to score points, but they'll also give up plenty of points.

I think that it will be USC beating Texas 42-35 with the decisive play being some absurd kick return by Reggie Bush. I think Texas has the better D, but I just don't see them beating SC, and yes Oregon does deserve #8- they are 10-1 with the 1 loss to USC. They don't deserve the at-large bid to the Fiesta bowl, but thier ranking is justified- they won who was in front of them. I heard a radio guy talking about how strength of schedule shouldn't matter as much, because it's consistancy and execution that wins games. Is LSU's schedule the toughest in the country? Hell yes, but that didn't stop them from losing to a Tenessee team that isn't even bowl eligible this year. Consistancy is key, and rising to the occasion wins- SC has always risen to the top, and will win again this year.

You guys can talk ALL you want about what teams can beat USC and which ones can't. The fact is that only ONE team is going to get a shot at them and thats Texas barring a disaster. Like I said before I am not in any way a fan of USC or the Pac-10 what so ever. I love the Big 10 no matter what. Dissecting this game before it gets played isn't going to change the fact that USC is #1 till someone knocks them off, kinda like king of the mountain. So what if their schedule is softer than that of the SEC, they may be able to control their NON conference schedule but they cannot control what conference they're in. I think they should've played some tougher teams non-conf than they did but you know what they're still #1 despite that fact. So all the SEC crybabies need to put a lid on it for this year and worry about the bowl games they're playing in and CAN control.

On a side note: To say Auburn would have even won let alone saying they would have smoked USC last year is not even close to being true. I think they were shafted for not being in the big game but no one knows who would have won. USC's offense last year was even MORE unstoppable than it is this year. And Auburn didn't exactly have juggernaut offense to say the least. Don't get me wrong they would have made it a game but they wouldn't have been able to hold them for 60 minutes.

Nope, its on but I don't see the Bruins coming within 20 points. Fresno ST had a much better offense and that is why they were able to stay close to USC. UCLA won't have a chance but I guess anything can happen and thats why they play the game.

I think that would constitute a disaster. You are of course talking about the UCLA that got pwned by freeking Arizona! they are gonna get one broken off in them Saturday.
