ok i got my system hooked up and my amp is a ifinity reference series 611a and i seen when i turn it really loud on the H/U the clipping indicator comes on when i turn the volume down it stops. it doesnt flash alot but comes on. in the manual it says:

SATUS LED's

Clip: indicates the amplifier is being overdriven, and your speakers may be in danger. This should bling only on musical peaks and not be on constantly.

That seem like its saying its bad and then not bad?? tell me what u guys think.

The amp is at half max the LP is at 320 Hp at like 28 and i have no bass boost on at all.

wtf does this mean? say that more clearly...

Clipping basically means you are overdriving your amp which is bad. If the light is only coming on for a split second on big bass hits, the manual says thats ok, but if it stays of for long periods, its bad. I say its bad either way, basically dont turn it up that loud, or get another amp..

Low pass dial goes from 32 to 320 and its at 320.

The highpass dial goes from 20 to 80 and its at like 28.

Low pass is 4 bass and the highpass is for mid speakers right?

im guessing input level. And what is the input level set at before u do. My zapco amp for my highs was doing this so i had the cut the amp all the way down and it works fine and now when i cut my HU to half way on the volume its at its at real decent level for me usually my daily driving preference a bit loud but thats how i usually listen to my music

k ill turn it down its only halfway though. i got 4 gauge wire with 60 amp fuse. and now my problem now is that i think the rca's are mixed up cuz i cant adjust sub level on my H/U. there is 4 holes on my h/u and my amp which one goes to what do i put them in imput, output, one on topof each other or staggered??? Help thanks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif

I think you have the Highpass and Lowpass mixed up. On the headunit you should have the rca's plugged into the subwoofer output, or rear. On the amp it should be connected to the input. Match the colors the same for each on the headunit and amp. Red with red, white with white or whatever color your rca's might be. I would also suggest reading the gain setting tutorial in the amplifier section. Good luck! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif
