claw basket mags better than rl-ps?

i've got a pair of rl-p 12's, and am thinking of selling them to buy a pair of old school claw basket mags. i'd have to wire my crossfire to 2 ohms, but should still be able to push them to the limit.

are they going to be louder to the ear and sound better in a 2.9 gross, 2.6 ft^3 net sealed box, and the ~4-4.5 ft 30 hz ported box im trying to build?

it is also 1 30 now, in the morning if your on the east coast, 1230 when you posted. Most people have gone to bed or are out not on the forums, me on the other hand. I love these forums and can't get enough....or am an insomniac. not sure which one, maybe both. but wait untill morning/afternoon and you'll have some responses.

Considering both of the subs mentioned in the title basically use the same motor... it's a toss-up.

no kidding? guess i'll just concentrate on porting my rl-p's. figured i'll have right at 4 cubic feet before the port building my box to the back seats, and could gain about a cubic foot by making it one inch taller. going to just use aeroports or some other round port i think.

do i just slap the ports in the front of the box, or do i need to have a piece the air has to go around before getting to the ports to minimize port noise? heres the link to the thread with my box pictures for reference, just going to build a 5 inch tall 40 inch wide rectangle section to extend about 2 ft in front of it, and have the ports firing forward, subs in the same position as the sealed box.

bump for opinions, i want to get this box built. system ain't loud enough, i need that knock the snot out of your nose bass again. i dont know how much space the aeroports are going to diplace, is it just the space that the actual port material displaces, or do i also count the area taken up by the air inside the port?
