building my first car (1972 bug w/ early parts), with my first sound system. Gotta say this audio stuff is overwhelming but i am still learning. I bought my first amp today (kicker kx600.1) for $120 so i will be going based off of that. i got some pioneer subs but they are crap. ill be getting new stuff.

My build so far

Headunit: sony cdx gt565up

componenets: none yet. i want kicker ds65.2 and ds68 ran off the headunit

amp: kicker kx600.1

subs: non yet, will be dual sundown e-10

enclosure: 32x15x12 with 10.75x1.5 port.

thats it so far. any advice is welcome, sorry for the large photos

would be ideal but i am still running an ancient generator in my bug. so i will run the components from the headunit untill my car can handle a second amp. simple alternator kit will do the trick

If you drove around in reverse I wonder if anyone would notice //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

I herd if you slam the breaks hard enough those will do a summersault.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Sweet car tho man tuned in !

I have a kicker 68.2 2 way component sets that I am getting rid of good starter set with only two months use and still under warranty

There is two 6x8, two tweeters, and two crossovers in original boxes and hardware

As I said they sound good and make a great set to learn about components and positioning and using passive crossovers

Well, generally speaking, I would agree. But that is like saying that PRV, Stetsom and Taramps are all the same. Similar maybe, but not the same...

It is an L port. You might as well add three 45's. Add one by the leg of the L and the two that I showed you in my other post.

Thank you both :) I'll probably wait it out for the SA-12 v.2s in that case. Always learning on this forum and I appreciate it so much as always!

It was also 1960 and the quality of sound you could get out of the loudspeakers of the day was going to be rather anemic even given optimum...
