Class for comps?

I am curious what class I will be in and how they determine class. I want to compete at a show, maybe this fall or something if I find something close. I know the circuit is about ended for the year but I still want to try somewhere in TN if it is soon.

My main SPL will come from my US AMPS Merlin D2. Rated 1500 @ 1 ohm. Do they use that number since that is what it is wired? I have no extra caps or battery. Ported box but I think everything is stock. I am pushing two 12 in pioneer ts-w2000spl. They are rated at 750w RMS each.

most of the ones I have attended are USACI and IASCA. I can tell you the different kinds i have saw. One kind had people go head to head. Another type had everyone go and the top 3 won a trophy in each respective class. Never heard of SLAP or MECA.

MECA would be your best bet to tell you the truth.

read up on some of the rules and then use the calculator to see what class you'd actually be in. i think they are based on the fuse rating of the amp(s), and the cone area in square inches. they use some formula to decide.

Never seen one of their comps around Nashville, TN.I also attend the southern showdown in Louisville, KY. Did any of you attend?
thats where a majority of the MECA shows are... around that area //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

check out th event calendar

MECA is best, for sure.

depnds on who comes

anywhere from a 135 to a 153 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

just get as loud as you can and learn as you go.

and.. you should be able to slide into as1, as2 highest... as3 is too high of a class for what you have. Just run an inline fuse thats as big as you can fit into the class, you'll be surprised on what size fuse you can run.

It said in the calc, use the combined rating of your fuses ---> 120A and that put me into AS3. I am going to have my friend drive my car to compete for me on saturday in white house, TN. I am hoping to hit around 140.

[put a fuse in line with the amp within 18"... u can drop to a lower class that way.
