I believe it is a class D. Well, I know its a monoblock amp. And no, caps aren't a must, actually, they aren't really recommended. Its better to take the money that you want to buy a cap with and upgrate your alternator, either get it rewound to a higher output or buy a new one. This will help your system a lot more than a cap will.

yes its class D and caps are useless, they wont fix diming headlights if thats what ur concern is about

a capacitor is only a band-aid for a big problem. my lights were dimming really bad, and i got a cap for my birthday, so i put it in, and the lights still dim, just not nearly as much. adding a cap only put a bigger strain on your alt because it's just one more thing it has to power.

yeah but i had a 150 amp altenator and a new battery and my lights dim to almost black still!!!

i got a bat cap (35 farads) and now my lights dont dim and my voltage doesnt drop nearly as far

so if ur gonna get a cap... invest in a good one

i know, but i don't have a job so it's kinda hard to get money together right now. i plan on getting either a 160 or a 200amp from PA Performance, but i still don't have the $250 right now

i hope i do too, i wanna drop in a 347 stroker and a nice pair of AFR heads. that'll set me back, oh, about $5,000 on top of the 2 15" k series i wanna get. so i'm kinda short on cash right now
