Class D Mono Amps

Hello, I am brand new to the forum and have enjoyed reading the posts. very informative. Anyway, I recently purchased two Kicker S12L7 dual 4 ohm vc subs and am looking to get an amp to power them. I have been looking at the Crossfire VR1000D and the Orion 1200D. I like both those amps because they are 1 ohm stable, which is a must. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with either of those amps, or would like to make any other suggestions. Also, if you know any class D amps that are exceptionally efficient, that would be helpful as well. My price limit is about $450.00. Thanks for your help.

You stated 1 ohm stable. I will then recommend the Hifonics Brutus BX1500D. It is a class D amp with 1500watts RMS power. I personally use one and I am very impressed. It can be had for just under $300 on ebay (including shipping). I posted a review in the review section. Slightly off topic, but...

I also posted a review of the subwoofer that I drove with that amp. The amp had no trouble really pushing the sub, and it was very clean, even in "repetitive, fast hitting" bass applications.

Let me know if you have any questions regarding this amplifier. Thanks.

T.J.

Hey, I have an American Bass CX1200D amp. It produces 1200 RMS @ 1 ohm. It is a class D amp and it works very well for me. The amp is also linkable if you ever wish to run 2 of them @ 2 ohms.

There is actually one on ebay right now, I was thinking about buying it but can't really afford it. It is only at 100 USD right now, but the reserve is not met.

Check it out, just search for American Bass on http://www.ebay.com and you will find it there.

They guy states that he will pay for shipping too which is always a bonus.

Hope that helps.

1ohm stable amps that are very well built, reliable and abuseable to JT standards (//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif) are

Memphis 1000d

CrossfireVR1000d

CrossfireBMF1000d

(USAmps, Linear Power, Zapco)

The first three amps wuld be best for your application in my opinion as they are virtually unbreakable and push a little over 1kRMS which is nice //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
