what is the difference between class d amps and others? i notice sub amps tend to have class d circuitry. what are the advantages of using a d class amp to power subs?
Only until this year. XTANT is releasing this spring the 1st full range class D mono block amplifier. NOT a sub amp.......well it could be if you wanted it to be but it can be used as a full range one channel amp as well, as in mids and highs. I hear they are supposed to be 100w X 1 and I'm not sure if thats at 2 or 4 ohms. They are going to be small enough so you can have a bunch of them. Don't know the price either.Originally posted by taylor class a amps are less efficinet, say about 50%, the rest is dissipated as heat, and they take more amperage...but class a is supposed to be the best for sq (just speaker amp, sub amp don't really matter)
