class d amp questions

so i read that class d amps are VERY efficient and use less power.. so how many amps would it take to run a 1600w class d amp? I know the formula is watts/volts=amps( I think, correct me if i'm wrong) so how much would a class d use as opposed to a class ab?

i'm getting a hifonics 1600w brutus, i'm also looking to get a class d 4 channel, probably an alpine, because hifonics doesn't carry a class d multi channel.

FRom what I can tell class D is made really for subwoofer output. Not speakers.

I have 2 class D's from Alpine...see my sig...I needed something small to fit in my center console...I loved by previous JL Audio Slash V2 500X1 for my subs but it was too **** big.

They are pretty good...I like a sub amp with a remote control for finer tuning song to song and I miss that with the Alpine...plus, even tho these boyz are Class D, they run warmer than my previous JL Audio...even with fans.

D are around 75% efficient.

A/AB are around 60%.
