Class D @ 0.5 ohms

Hey, I was wondering if anyone has run a class d amp at 0.5 ohms that was only stable to 1 ohm. I have an American Bass CX1200D and I was told that it can run at 0.5 ohms but I don't want to try it and have it break on me.

Do you think it is likely that it will work at 0.5 for daily?

Thanks

I was talking to someone and they said they had one running at 0.5 ohms daily for 4 months now. I just wonder if he got lucky with his or if they are all like that.

I emailed Bob from American bass and he just ignored me. It's been about a month and still no reply.

Only extrememly high-end class D amps should be run at .5 ohm....such as MMATS.

It is probably not a good idea to run any amp not rated below 1 ohm lower. The only exception would be for an SPL burp.

go to crossfirecaraudio.com it is an VR series amp. they have other lines that as powerfuld but there VR series are more of an power house. If u go to the Photo gallery and look for it there is an guy that has one. And u can talk to him.
