Clarion DXZ835mp owners...PLEASE READ!!!

I have had an on going problem with my 835mp. When I play a cd-r/cd-rw, it always stops about 5-10 seconds short of the end of the cd and shows "error-3". The cd's are in perfect condition and play everywhere else...even my wife's clarion. I sent it back to etronics to get it repaired and and I just got it back eairlier this week just to find out that it still does it. They sent me a slip of paper that showed me how to take care of my cd's and stuff...whatever, if they work everywhere else, I guess they are taken care of then...right? Anyway the only fix I have is to send it back and let them play with it for another month...and possibly get it back the same way...again. I am completely frustrated and have no idea what to do.

Has anyone had this problem or have suggestions on what to do??

i haven't memorized the error's but i'm assuming that it is the "clean the CD" error. if that's true then i would buy a CD lens cleaner before you send it in for a whole month. my DXZ835mp did the "clean the CD" error once when it was really really cold, with a CD that was in it overnight. aside from that i have never had a problem like you are experiencing.

I have tried a lens cleaner (guess I should have said that) but thanks.

I know what your talking about when it's cold. I have had a cd stop and get "error-6" which means that the cd is upside down..lol.

i had error 3 the other day, buddy had OLD OLD CDS there were scratched to the tits, i dont think anything would have played em but if ur does it last 5-10secs then have u tried different cd brands/burner/speeds?

It plays everything BUT the last 5-10 sec. so I don't think that it is the brand, burner, or speed.

I found out last night, if I turn off the HU when I get the error message and turn it back on, it will pick up where it left off and play the last of the CD.
