Well, I was able to get my JVC AVX33 headunit replaced. The ebay seller RMA'd, sent to JVC, and I got a new unit!!! Yaaaa

Just got it installed by CarToys, they did an awesome job too. Now as far as Circuit City frying the HU, I dunno, but JVC replaced it thank god.

Anyways... this headunit is fricken awesome!!!

should of just installed it yourself

I had three different jvc radios smoke themselves as soon as i plugged them in. Swapped them out for a panasonic radio after checking to make sure all the wiring was correct for the 4th time, and it worked perfectly.

Exactly. whenever you just want to browse around they hover over you like flies on ***. and when you actually NEED help, they act like they couldn't care less.

I bought a radio from Circut city and they almost insisted on installing the radio. I told them about 5 times I'm installing it myself. Also I can't figure out why, if installation is FREE, the receipt says "installation $35". I still can't get a straight answer.

My sister, years ago, had an entry-level JVC cassette deck.

This was back in the days of every stereo being a dual-shaft type back when a single-DIN, rectangular faced deck hadn't even been thought about.

At any rate - the fanciest features about this POS tape deck were the fact that the display was digital and the cassette transport had auto-reverse.

That complete piece of crap worked flawlessly for over 4.5 years until someone actually took the time and energy to break into the '84 Mazda 626 she was driving at the time and stole it?

I've never run a JVC personally but having watched my sis use and abuse that tape deck for close to half a decade without it failing or even so much as eating the 1st tape I cannot say that they're crap...

They charge $35 for labor and discount the radio $35 to accommodate. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
