Can't speak for others but when I drink whiskey it lasts a bit longer than a few second bong hit. I could care less if weed tastes like x-flavor in those few seconds, it all gets me high.

Sure all whiskey can get me a buzz but the flavor is around for a little longer than a few seconds so I do care about the different flavors of whiskey.

Thats the difference I see.

Good rebuttal. I usually just spit after I smoke, then take a drink of water.

Also with alcohol, some people think of it the same way as you think of weed.

They just want to drink to get drunk. While I want to drink to get drunk, but I want to enjoy the "getting there"....

Some people that think they can function fine high can't. Some people can function fine high and its usually those with a tolerance, some drunks can do the same thing. See my previous statement about occasional use and excess.

I've always found it ironic that weed threads always turn very divisive, there's always the highbrow smoker, the barely-intelligent smoker who can just manage to spit out some words every now and then, the politically savvy one...etc.

You just summed up why I usually enjoy drinking more than smoking. Drinking is a journey, smoking is a few second ride to the full high.
