He lives in Alabam, not too far from Florida.
I think I read him saying he's 10 minutes from the FL bored. He's also an active member at floridaspl.com, and is very into car audio just like everyone else.

Well an update:

My 18" Fi BTL is now running on Knu 8 gauge. Tom soldered 8 gauge together and stuffed the **** out of the terminals...but it's in there.

My P880PRS is installed and it's gorgeous. Not to mention the big increase in sound quality from that out cheapy JVC deck. I love it to death, will never replace it unless it's gone bad.

nVRuckus was so nice as to give me free RCA cables to replace the very thin RCAs I had going to the 20.1... and when I spent 30 minutes running it down the car and behind the dash perfectly... they didn't work. Was pissed off, but went back to the thin **** for now. I ordered 6M of Karma RCAs from Knu, should be here sometime next week.

Spent today installing the 200A alternator from Excessive, doing the big 3 and waxing the car with Tom. The alternator got damaged in shipping: the lip of the pulley was bent/warped. Tom grabbed the dermal and grinded the lip a little and we crossed our fingers. It works great, although I have been unsuccessful in finding a shop that can bench it for me. Also, it makes a wining sound which Tom's dad said was a case of funky bearings. His dad said I'd get a couple thousand miles out of it... which worries me. Voltage ranges from low 12s to high 12s at idle, 13-14.2 at 2000 RPM.

End result: Well, it's ****ing loud. The difference in loudness is rather large from the last deck.. my ears are hurting bad, and Tom and I both felt our body hair stand up and a slight breeze.

My 6" aero ports should be coming next week, and October 2nd or so Robin, Tom and I are getting together and constructing a new box. ~5 cubes, pluggable aeros for daily/comp box!

Goodnight.

...and no, you can't have my sub!

you noticed a big difference going to a new head unit or going with the new alt?
It was kind of both... when I had the new head unit in we didn't set the gains properly... and when we replaced the alternator we set the gains.
My last head unit wasn't giving us enough voltage to even set the gains right... so at the last competition we set it dangerously (just turned it up) and I had my 30 seconds of fun. I could stand it, it was bearable... now it's borderline bearable.

get that **** replaced man dont let settle for a messed up alt. I knew something like this would happen with that fucking guy. 1% defects my ass. I would of sent it back as soon as I seen the bent pulley man. He might say you messed up the bearings now

Yea, ill be soon to be done with the 6" aeroports this week. Went clubbing in Tijuana, Mexico saturday night, so i was totally fuqed up on sunday. I'll be in contact with you Kenny.

6" Aeroports FTW!!

From Nate:

Hi Kenny,I glad to hear you got the alternator installed. If it was damaged during shipment, You should have let me know - I could have filed a claim throgh Fed Ex and they would have taken care of it. "Funky bearings" is not a phrase you will hear from a good mechanic. The alternator is 100% NEW and has the best bearings available, it is not bad bearings. It is probably a stator insulator that is protruding out some, They will wear down with a little time. They sometimes will rub the rotor as the stator windings are so much larger. Do you get higher voltage when you slightly rev the engine ? You might be able to idle the car up just a little to compensate, The voltage regulator is built into the computer on your car. If you idle the vehicle up just a little, it will allow it to read a higher voltage. Let me know if I can help. Thank you,

Nate
He doesn't seem to want to start problems... it's such a ****ing pain to mess with my alternator though. I want to bring it to an alternator shop and have them bench it, but I cannot find a single place that can tell me if it's putting out near 200 amps. Also, I don't have a belt tensioner, so the belt might not be on to the recommended tightness.
