Well an update: My 18" Fi BTL is now running on Knu 8 gauge. Tom soldered 8 gauge together and stuffed the **** out of the terminals...but it's in there. My P880PRS is installed and it's gorgeous. Not to mention the big increase in sound quality from that out cheapy JVC deck. I love it to death, will never replace it unless it's gone bad. nVRuckus was so nice as to give me free RCA cables to replace the very thin RCAs I had going to the 20.1... and when I spent 30 minutes running it down the car and behind the dash perfectly... they didn't work. Was pissed off, but went back to the thin **** for now. I ordered 6M of Karma RCAs from Knu, should be here sometime next week. Spent today installing the 200A alternator from Excessive, doing the big 3 and waxing the car with Tom. The alternator got damaged in shipping: the lip of the pulley was bent/warped. Tom grabbed the dermal and grinded the lip a little and we crossed our fingers. It works great, although I have been unsuccessful in finding a shop that can bench it for me. Also, it makes a wining sound which Tom's dad said was a case of funky bearings. His dad said I'd get a couple thousand miles out of it... which worries me. Voltage ranges from low 12s to high 12s at idle, 13-14.2 at 2000 RPM. End result: Well, it's ****ing loud. The difference in loudness is rather large from the last deck.. my ears are hurting bad, and Tom and I both felt our body hair stand up and a slight breeze. My 6" aero ports should be coming next week, and October 2nd or so Robin, Tom and I are getting together and constructing a new box. ~5 cubes, pluggable aeros for daily/comp box! Goodnight.
