I've gotten jewelry for the last 2 years for the girl, and a ring for the last birthday....but now I'm in college and poor, hope she knows I love her!

Corsica----I think I said that wrong, not saying that we don't like hoddies. I was saying more like I'm a bit of a romantic at heart so while I might be OK w/ a hoodie for like my b-day or something I would think it was a cop out for X-mas. I guess that's what I meant when I asked what kind of a girl she was.
(The ***** thing was a joke, although I'm bi so it tends to come in handy!)

Thats kewl with me. I do get ur point there though. a hoodie isn't too romantic..........but hey i could give u something i gave my last girl friend???

im gonna get my girlfriend and her mom a day at the spa, manacure\pedacure\massage\whatever. is that a good idea (mom is a project manager for locheed martin and is always stressed out, and girl loves that kinda crap)

Hubby got my mother and I a trip to a spa for mother's day, absolutely wonderful

wow i should of known how this thread would turn out haha.

yall all have alot of good ideas, i wasnt really sure about the hoodie thing although she loves taking mine. she has said something bout an ipod but i realyl dont feel like droppin 250 or so on her this quick. i wanna think of something to get the "aww thats so sweet" reaction, but im not sure.

Mstang, on the line of the spa idea a lot of spas will let you buy a gift card for a particular 1hr service (maybe a massage or facial) that will run you from $60-$75 or maybe some small piece of jewelry, you can get something nice but not too expensive at some department stores---like maybe a gold heart or something

who cares if people do it on a regular basis, all that matters is that its enjoyable and somthing that the other person will like.

Actually two out of hubby and I's three little girls have b-days in December and for the two years I played the role of house wife money was tight. It was either cheat the kids outta gifts because their b-days are close to x-mas or not get each other gifts. We just gave each other cards because it's not the kids fault we were low on funds. I probably would have been pissed had he gotten me a gift because I knew the money could have been better spent.

I think if your in a situation where for whatever reason money is tight but you do something to show your appreciation to your girl and she cannot understand that than.........

Now, if your just being cheap------that's a WHOLE 'nother story.
