chipped slug on motor

How much does it effect the motor if one of the slugs has had a nice size chip taken out of it but the previous owner glued it back on. Got a chance to pick up a pair of motors for a good price. But if the chip effects it a lot I'm not going to mess with them

And I'm sure this isn't an issue as I've seen several motors with the slugs not perfectly aligned

I don't know how much the chip affects performance but I don't think you can just glue it back in and have it perform the same as if it was damaged. I think that would be like taking a small motor and trying to glue a bunch of small Neo magnets to it to increase motor force.

***Note*** I do not build woofers so I am not a credible source.

 
as rob said no real effect in performance.

what ya gotta watch is chips is where slugs crack from. not saying the slug will but could be a fracture, look it over but dont fret it...
