I was hooked on pain meds for years, I have cronic shoulder pain and took pain meds for it then I tried to stop and couldnt, the use of perscription meds is growing all they are is perscription herion. I went thru a 35 day non addictive pain management program to get off the pain meds, I didnt ever use drugs untill the pain meds, and they almost ruined my life. if I didnt get help I would have been using herion prob wiithin months, if you never went thru opiate with draw you prob dont understand but you will do anything to feel better.

I have a legit reason to take perscription meds and I will never take them again. I became an addict and didnt even try I never did any street drugs

did you ever go thru opiate withdraw ? I have legit pain, I am 31 and need a shoulder replacement and cant get it for 15 years (age thing). self discipline ? far from it I was drinking like a fish and quit cold turkey 5 years ago. when you have pain and need the pain meds to function and your body is depended on them it is kinda hard to just stop. I dont have a problem stayin off of them (now cause I am detoxed) cause my pain is under control with non addictive, non sterriod meds.

opiate addiction (herion and pain pills are opiates) will control your life, they screw up your system so much that your pain tolorance is all f'ed up, you actually have suto pain or phantom pain. they also build up in your system so taking one pill today you will need two or more later to get the same effect, so thats when street drugs come into play. I never got to that point thank god, I under stand how someone not on opiates wouldnt understand but if you go thru it you will.
