i just ran mine through the port but i really like that idea, so its just 4 studs with a washer and nut on each side holding it to the box and then another washer and nut to hold the wire on?

and if you dont mind too much, i would like to use it on my new box ill be building

Im not the first one to use this Idea...Its been used many many times over...Go look at steve meades box, He has a hardware store full of bolts sticking out one side of his box.
