help please engine problems

can anyone please tell me what to do about a whinning sound in engine when running and also a burnning smell when running i have an 1993 olds and everything was running fine till yesterday it started to make a whinning sound and burnning smell i opened hood belts are not siezed or anything

no belts is moving and i thought the alternator was siezed but i dont see it rubbing anything, do you think it might be transmission fluid or oil

no i havent im not very good at automotive but i i do check the fluids such as oil and water but i will check the transmission fluids now hope its nothing major ty im sorry can i check the transmission while its not running i dont want to cause anymore damage

have you drivin' it while it was whining? if you haven't try it. power steering pump might be it. idk about the burning smell though. almost seems like it has to be belts. also i doubt it is your ****** unless your only hear when in drive

if the power steering pump is leaking,it could cause a whining and a burning smell.Or it could be that your car needs to visit the car-spital
