Chevy S10 CD Player Problems

I just bought a 1998 Chevrolet S10.

Everytime I put a CD in, I get the ERR message. I've tried different CDs and tried turning the CD upside down. I've tried it with the car cooled down, also.

Has anyone else had this problem or know a solution?

In my blazer I used to get the same thing with every cd, solved it buy buying a new cd player. The delco unit is crap and its a common break.

any recommendations for a good system that is not too expensive?

look on ebay for some kicker subs, or look for an alpine deck, go for some re subs, just look at anything on ebay and when u find something interesting post it

Does it display an error code? if not, all you can try to do is clean the cd player with a cleaning disc. if this doesn't work you will probably be better of buying an aftermarket deck.
